A Quinzaine Set

A chapter in the book Little Poems

My Style

by Treischel

I write poems about Nature.
Are you bored with me?
Well, who cares?

Most have rhyme and some structure.
Can I write Free Verse?
Don't you know?

My Muse involves photographs.
Do they also speak to you?
Don't you see?

I originally classified this format under "Poetry for Dummies." As I wasn't particularly enamored with this type. It seemed pretty inane to me, and I avoided writing one. Especially with the example provided, which was:
I'm a very strong woman.
Are you a woman?
Are you strong?

I thought.
I just cannot believe it
So, that's poetry?
Are you Nuts?

Then I realized that the questions are the art. They can be very provocative. So here is
a set of them that I wrote.

This poem is a set of three Quinzaines.
A Quinzaine is a poem with three lines and a set syllable count. The English word Quinzaine come from the French word "Qunize", meaning fifteen. Thus, a Quinzaine is an unrhymed verse of fifteen syllables. where these syllables are distributed among the three lines so that there are seven syllables in the first line, five in the second line and three in the third line (7/5/3). The first line makes a statement. The next two lines ask a question relating to that statement.
