The Spell is Cast

by brenda bickers

‘Twas as the drop of freshly fallen leaves,
that first I felt the flutter in my heart.
As summer drifted by on Autumn's breeze,
that's when my love for you did truly start.
While butterflies that danced within my soul,
Sent tingles down my spine at just your name.
Addicted to your touch you were my goal,
as naked and exposed we played the game.
Yet no one knew how deeply we would fall,
or if these feelings deep inside would last.
Like lovebirds as we sang the mating call,
we both saw then the spell of love was cast.
And as we held each other in our dreams,
We learnt to feel what true love really means.
