Life Reflections

by Thomas Bowling

I always thought that when I die, I didn't want my life to pass before my eyes. I wanted Hugh Hefner's life, to pass before my eyes. But, I've had a pretty good ride. A loving wife, six beautiful children, you have to squint, enough Social Security, so that I only have to start dipping into the 401K around the 14th of each month.

I didn't excel in high school, but a kind guidance counselor gave me an aptitude test and asked, "Have you ever considered computers?"

Thirty years as a computer programmer taught me to look at the world logically.

Retirement has been good. I write iPhone apps and short stories. I post on FanStory and am told by people, that they like my stories and I have made many friends there.

My health is poor, Congestive Heart Failure, but my spirits are good.

It's been a good ride.

Writing Prompt
Write the entire story of your life in no more than 150 words. You can be experimental, creative, funny, serious, provocative, reflective, whatever style you best feel represents your life. You must write about your entire life, not just a moment of it. No poetry (too easy). No fiction (YOUR life), although metaphors are acceptable so long as they are directly interpretable to be about your life. You'll be surprised at what your life looks like in 150 words...
