An amazing family man was thoughtfull and genuine . In the winter of 1958 the snow fell real late, he climed out a window to a slope that was so deep . He had to go to town to get some bread for his kids to eat. He shouveled his way from the house to the barn to ride his horse . He had to find a way, he had got off course, and couldn't let them down. It took all day and night, the kids were at a fright. Their mother would just say that dad is on his way. The darkness started to come as their mom sucked down some Rum. Worried that he got lost in the snow that quickley turned to frost. When he did arrive it was late and the kids had finaly ate. He brought back a surprise for on his ride the kids were in his mind. A tootsie pop for each, their dad was oh so sweet. For it's the same man that i have got to know, for he was a grandpa to me and a man you would want to know. Thats living off the grid.
