This work has reached the exceptional level
Whites take our land and people.

Stolen Generation

by Aussie

Filthy whites stole our land
Leather boots, chains in hand
Tri-cornered hats
Powdered plaits.

Peaceful people we were then
Raped by whites, chains for men
Gave us sugar, flower, rum
Taught us to march to their drum.

Made us dress in cotton shifts
Cover our bodies, listless miffs
Told us about the white man's God
We worshipped before they even trod.

Oldest civilisation on this earth
White men came; rebirth
We learned to speak their tongue
Pidgin English had begun.

Slaves to English; bodies stinking, mean
We washed everyday, sparkling clean
They stole our women, used them hard
Thought we were useless, like tin of lard.

Big Fella,' my country no more
English had shut our door
Lived on bully-beef
Rotted our lovely teeth.

Their poor food made us sick
Our bush-tucker made us slick
Two-hundred years on
Said "sorry," bin too long.

Tribal blacks live on land
Tin shanties, gave us a hand
Our five-year olds laugh and joke
Teenagers move to big smoke.

Old men sitting in blazing sun
Too old to hunt, too old to run
Legends of Dreamtime all but lost
Filthy whites never count the cost.
