As if death
   can be a temple for some
   and a doorway for others

As if we can
   change a minute of the years flung away
   or knit our actions into a proper suit

As if accepting
    we failed someone, somewhere
    is enough penance

As if justice
    has any connection with supernovas
    or exploding suns

As if an
    urge to hate
    determines our fate

As if warriors
    achieve more with a pure heart
    than armed with soulless steel

As if our journey
     is but one path
     travelled by the feet of many

As if we
    could banish victimhood
    and embrace our victory
