Couplets in Quatrains - Iambic tetrameter

The Painter

by Just2Write

Picasso likes to work with paint -
but, he's no master - no, he ain't.
Them blue things he's been churning out
ain't worth a nickel - not a doubt.

Now me, I like to paint with gray;
been doing that most every day,
for I'm a teacher, don't 'cha know -
I've mastered all and have the flow.

I am an artiste, quite refined
and I paint ships of every kind.
I'm really good, when painting boats
or anything that sinks or floats.

Who taught that Pablo when he brushed
with strokes too bold, that are so rushed?
I get some help from my young son,
we're painting ships and having fun.

I know technique, man. Yes, siree!
I'll bet Picasso envies me,
and if he'd like, I'll teach him too -
to paint precisely like I do.

My boats are grey as grey can be
Who cares about monotony?
Picasso likes to work with paint.
But he's no expert. No, he ain't.

Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist. Pablo Picasso

The above was a quote that my young niece, who is an artist used on her web-site. It really resonated with me.
