Baby when I saw you, for the very first time--I knew your inner beauty, but you'd never be mine. I gave you pretty flowers in a different kind of way--always had to wonder did you think of me that day. Some years later death had struck again. Already I had died--long before then.

Then again I saw you--I saw you once again. You hugged me oh so gentle, asked did I need a friend?

Death surrounds me baby, it seems you cannot see? No one else should ever really want to be with me.
Dammit death surrounds me--it's knocking on my door. Everyday I answer--dying years before.

Then came our winter, you called me in the storm. You said you needed help--I knew there must be more.

I'll save you baby, even if I die. They won't ever hurt you--let them bastards try. You can't kill a man who knows that he is dead. You came and held me tight--my sins all being said.

You saw right past their lies. I knew you understood--opened up my heart when no one ever could.

You told me--baby it's not fair. Please don't stay around, you've had your hurting share.

So would I leave you? No I never would. I'll be right by your side because you understood.

When that day you hugged me--you really stole my heart. That's why your now my wife--I loved you from the start. I'll be right by your side like no one ever would. I've loved you from the start--because you understood.
