A chapter in the book Act of Endurance

Night in Woods

by TPAC

My travel in uncertainty blinding dark rain chills, paced steps to fear all ripping tears the ordeal again, thinking notions in my brain to stain pits.

My journey bent home that's done on foot tips, rips deep in this forest not a flashlight sips did, cut dips put not just in trees dark but in leaves.

Dope got slope slowly bent going down safely, unseen root rope trips eyes lock low stretches, leaning I'm afraid acts to cope not to slip a hill.

Nightmare put in a pit in hush silence not any vision, out a bush limb to reach crush me grab quick flush, horror fear I'm alone trees thought.

I zone out it by the ear tilt at any input given to, closely listen to it hear loud bang alerting near, sight shadows anxiety let tear out expectation.

Chest well no air dims eyes, breathing lows in shell pressure reacts to hell site, fell befuddled child therein held fright seen vision fully vacant.

Big beast the peer out of nowhere this cop as at lunch, moves eyes it sights mop airless stop, attack hungry threat a hop to hurt me big bear.

Owl sitting its one eye to blink said out a howl, hid in the bush animal growl nearby, my blind side swift there a ghost to prowl BOO my zoom.
