What is love?

Little Baby Girl

by Belinda

Little baby girl
How do you know
What love is?
I guess you identify it
Thru' your senses
Sight ... from seeing me smile
Hearing ... from listening to my coos
Touch... from my arms around you
Smell ... from my familiar scent
Taste... from the flowing milk satiating you

Sweet baby girl
I wonder if you know
All those things and much, much more
If bundled together
Add up to love?

Dear baby girl
I think I know you know
What love is
What the word stands for
When out of the blue
Your chubby hand
Lands on my hair
And then a caress
A murmur:
"Love ... Mommy"

The picture is of Kayla, my granddaughter, about the time she 'proclaimed' her love to me...
