Writing Prompt Write a suite of haiku, three or more on any subject. Each haiku must stand alone. All haiku rules apply. RULES: Each haiku must, be 17 syllables or fewer no short long short requirement present tense no unnecessary punctuation or capitalization no artwork no author's notes description should read, "Contest Entry" and nothing else. Pieces that attempt to add explanations or descriptions of their pieces WILL be disqualified. Everything needs to be said in the Title and the haiku themselves. use only fonts and backgrounds available in Fanstory's editor. You may use color, italics, bold or whatever enhancements the site editor offers. There should be a theme that ties your pieces together and voters will be instructed to consider that. However, that is a judgement call and no one will be disqualified for it. Remember that haiku contains a seasonal reference, concrete imagery and a sartori or "ah ha" moment. I am not making these RULES, however, I am asking the voters to consider it. As you can see, the rules aren't strict so you shouldn't have to worry about disqualification. I'm looking for words that paint pictures and a series that tells a story or examines aspects of a theme. |
