Eiffel Tower Went Dark

'More Opinions, Politics & Comments' ~ #19-401-B

We, as artists, poets, and writers
The ultimate freedom fighters
Watched as the Eiffel Tower went dark
So, on a new mission we must embark
Vowing to speak out in stout voices
That liberty means we do have choices
Yes, create your words and pictures
Free from intimidation and strictures
Do employ your pens and brushes
Realizing that censorship crushes

But we must use more than paint and ink
As terror brings us to the very brink
Our leaders must lead, construct a plan
Walking surefooted, taking a stand
Courage is needed, take a step forward
Nations don't respect a cringing coward
Pandering to appease makes each a pawn
While danger increases as time goes on
If goodness flinches we'll live to dread
And humanity will cease in years ahead

'More Opinions, Politics & Comments'

In crises, as the world is experiencing now, nations must unite to preserve freedom. We've done it before and can do it again, but it takes courageous leadership, which is lacking at this time.
