What? You say you want to steal from me?
You chalk up your lack to social disparity?
Try to take what's mine and make it yours?
Crying and whining just makes you bores.
I'm sorry that your life isn't hunky-dory,
but there really are two sides to every story.

Is the disparity because I stuck it out in school?
You can do that, too, if you don't play the fool.
Earned a degree, paid for it myself, got a good job.
Didn't look around for a millionaire to rob.
Now in retirement, having skimped and saved,
I should give what's mine to you? How depraved!

My advice is to educate yourself, learn to speak well.
Wait to start a family until after the wedding bell.
Plan for what you want, not spending every dime.
Taking away from someone else really IS a crime.
Equalize your opportunity and chance for success.
Don't expect that others will fulfill your happiness.

Social Disparity writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a poem that expresses issues regarding wealth and the social order of "the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer", a big topic nowadays. It can be in any format, as long as it hits the issue, rhyming or not rhyming either way is fine.

It's fashionable these days to bash those whose ingenuity and hard work has allowed them to accomplish something. Please don't play the victim by buying into the self-defeating premise of helplessness, because then you truly are helpless.
