How Low Some Fall

by Sandra Stoner-Mitchell

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

When God sent down His only Son on Christmas Eve
To take away the sins from all who would believe,
Did He know then in years to come,
His truth would be denied by some?
That evil would then overrun?

~*~*~ How He must grieve ~*~*~

God offered life--He offered love to everyone.
Believe in Me, was all He asked, then sent His son.
When Jesus said, "I am the key
To heaven and eternity,
God sent Me here to set you free..."

~*~*~ Then lies were spun ~*~*~

When God created Earth for us, He hoped we'd learn
To love our neighbours--live in peace; then in return
He'd fill the earth with crops to eat,
The seas with fish, and fields with meat,
All things to make our lives complete...

~*~*~ Such things some spurn ~*~*~

God loved us then, He loves us still. He gave His all,
But there are those who still refuse His name, to call,
How He must grieve, when some deny...
When lies are spun, He must ask, why...
When truth is spurned, How God must cry...

~*~*~ How low some fall ~*~*~*
