All You Can Eat
                                by michael cahill

The old haunted mansion scared me not a whit,
nor rumors of ghoulies or witches in snits.
I figured I'd show em I wasn't no wimp
and I wasn't no fraidy cat, sissy or simp

So, I tripped up the steps to the green rusty door
I rushed in a screamin' and slipped on the floor
They were all there to greet me with chopsticks and knives
and said, "Welcome to supper, but, you're undersize!"

I froze to the ground in penultimate fear
and certainly sensed the Grim Reaper was near
"He's puny!" "We'll starve!" "Do you call this a feast?"
"As an all you can eat fest, now this is the least!"

"Now, out with you, boy, we will give you one chance.
If you send us a meal, we may spare you the lance!"
I stepped out the door and announced with great spunk,

"It's empty--come in, or you're all gutless punks!"
