A poem for Maureen

Stardust Fell

by Idamarty

Stardust fell from heaven today,
shimmering `neath the moonlight
as it floated softly down,
dancing an eternal waltz to
angels` perfect voices.

I stood in awe at its beauty,
revelling in the moment.
With feather touches they
landed, glistening like
tears upon my skin.

I dared not breathe, lest
they should depart. I wanted
so desperately to keep them,
yet I knew deep down that there
is nothing one can hold forever.

After a while, they disappeared,
and though I was heartbroken,
I felt comforted somehow, knowing
they would always be with me,
existing in the infinite universe.

And then I thought of my Celtic friend,
the bravest warrior I have ever known.
She too, is like the stardust,
touching all with her beauty
as she dances to life`s symphony

I know whether she stays earthbound
or if her spirit soars free like an eagle,
her legacy will endure. For as long
as we breathe her name, she
will remain forever, timeless.
