An upsetting awareness of Japans' slaughtering of dolphins

Slaughter of Dolphins

by Lulube

Six months out of each and every year
Japan's dolphins need not live in any fear

A newscast recorded their other six months of hell
This government's sick, cruel policy, is not sitting well

For these, one-of-a-kind, mammals of the sea
How has their horrific demise, ever come to be?

If ever a human being, who's at sea, be in trouble
A dolphin nearby, would try and rescue, on the double

They are man's allies in our vast oceans and seas
Should we not stand up for them now, as we do our trees?

Viewed the slaughtering round-up of pods, in seine-type nets
Heard their cries for help, imbedded now in one of man's regrets

I shed many a tear for all of these magnificent, peaceful mammals
Pray the world steps in and protects, before they're extinct animals

Saw a video of these poor giving mammals being slaughtered by bludgeoning their heads with a bat. Their cries were haunting me to write for them.
sorry I haven't got a better picture but I took this one when I was 150 miles out at sea. They were playing with us as we travelled.
