A woman obsessed

The Addiction

by Linda Engel

I quickly pace the wooden floor
It's you I hunger for and adore
Love fills the air and into your arms
When you arrive with all your charms.

A quick knock on the door. It's UPS
What's in the box I don't have to guess
Ripping it open, my body goes slump
Romance Novels, Books of the Month.

Then, selfishly I push all others aside
Oh! Shamefully me.  I cannot lie.
And when there isn't any more room
I know that I'll be hauntingly doomed.

See, I'm addicted to love and girls being taken
Pirates and Princes and worlds being shaken
No matter the setting, no matter the language
I need my "fix" and romance is my bandage.

Woke up this morning singing this ditty in my head ( must have been the late night ice cream). Thank you VMarguarite for the art work.

This was written in early 2014 when I was new to Fan Story. Today I edited it to flow better. Hope my new Fan friends enjoy. No, I don't read romance novels. Only if they are on Fan Story. :D LOL
