Happy Birthday Miss Evelyn

God Puts Together A Team

by Janie King

It was an ordinary Sunday morning in late January 2013. I was already seated in the front row and waiting for the church service to start. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a very distinguished elderly lady, wearing a cowboy hat, sit down across the aisle from me to my left.

Little did either of us know at this time that God had a special plan for both of us. At the end of the service I noticed you handed Pastor Ron a book you had written. A book? I was zeroed in now for sure. I love to write and you had already written a book. Hummmm?

I had to hurry home that morning as I have a ninety year old mother to care for who can't be left alone. I returned to church for the evening service and your book was lying on the altar, just waiting for me to pick it up. I managed to get Pastor Ron's okay to borrow his book until the Thursday night service so I could read it

By the time the following Sunday morning came around it was determined we would become a team. You had written the book and I had time to promote it and introduce you to Fan Story. I am so happy they have taken you into their hearts and love you dearly.

It tends to amuse me sometimes how God pairs up people. I have never experienced any kind of abuse, and you lived with more than three decades of it. Yet, after reading your book I had a complete feel for what you were saying and your purpose for having made your life an "open book."

We have worked together, laughed, cried, discussed and shared our feelings while promoting your book. Many hours have been spent traveling down this unique path God has chosen. I have had more fun sharing and doing the things God has showed us to do. There is no doubt He is beginning to open the right doors. God has a plan and a time for all things in our lives.

You are a part of my heart and I cover you daily in prayer. You are a very strong lady. As Nanny Eve would say, "there is no quitting blood in your veins." I want to say a very special "Happy Birthday" to you and pray God will grant you health, strength, wisdom and knowledge this year so that all He desires for you will bloom as a rosebud does when it is cared for properly. God loves you and I do too.
