Rhyming quatrains
The Traveller
by kiwisteveh
I set out from Mount Ambition Overlooking Doubtless Beach Where the teasing lights of Easy Street Stayed just beyond my reach. I spent some time in Dalliance Down sweet Temptation Track How I needed you beside me As I trudged to Hell and back. I've rolled the dice in One More Chance I've danced in Poverty I lived a while in Struggle Street On the shores of Hardluck Sea. I've journeyed to Depression Through the Gulf of Great Despair And partied in Elation- How I long to go back there. Up the swirling River Heartache To its source, the Spring of Fears In the bleak Remorseful Canyon And the Vale of Bitter Tears. On the outskirts of Insanity Near Desperation Bridge I took comfort in fine company On Recollection Ridge I'm here at last at Farewell Lake Just across from Journey's End, One mile to go to Paradise Where I'll hold you once again. |
