I had always privately scoffed at the notions
that a lover's touch could
truly cause fair skin to blush
that a single kiss could render one
silly and sly with desire

Such things found in poems and novels
were nothing but crafted fiction or so imagined
I know better now
my skin carries the imprint of your touch

With brilliance and clarity I recall the taste of
sweet and savage kisses and
pleasure beyond any imagining still sings within my veins
sweeter than any nectar upon the tongue and
louder than the fiercest pain.
