Down With Clowns

by BeasPeas

'More Opinions, Politics & Comments' ~ #2-401-B
A clown's profession is a devious task.
Humans lurking behind an inhuman mask.
Painted faces scaring kids, cringing with fright,
while parents push them forward to be polite.

Entertaining they're not, they're frightening freaks,
gesturing and laughing though voice never speaks,
aiming to amuse, but annoying at best.
If YOU think them comical, you be my guest.

Recall the clowns you have personally known.
Funny then, disrespected now that you're grown.
Delusional school chums playing tricks and pranks,
gathering your ridicule, but never thanks.

What sort of monster seeks to deceive the world,
like John Wayne Gacy, where murder victims swirled.
Prey falling under his malevolent star.
Down with hideous clowns who hide who they are.

Clowns writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a poem that refers to Clowns!

As you can tell from my poem, I don't like clowns. Most children don't like them either. John Wayne Gacy, for those who aren't aware, was a serial killer who dressed as a clown. All lines have 11 syllables. Thank you for the image and thank you for reading my poem.
