The Jewelry Box

Solid Cherry
and ornate

They both used
to be young once

The jewelry box
used to sing
but now she just
holds her things

Silver and gold
gifts and apologies
tarnished relics

Of what used to be

I found a beautiful jewelry box at an antique store yesterday, it inspired this poem.
