The Fisherman and the Mermaid

the lone fisherman reels it in the ocean calms him he cherishes his time alone with seagulls and waves who appear to be calling his soul to another place sea green eyes watch the human male in the surf she is enchanted by his determination to remain in salty water humans she does not understand or interact with she swims under water her companion whales not far away the sea is her comfort zone yet the male seeking fish seems to her to be in a place of serenity as he holds his rod steady she dives into waves he is oblivious to the green tail and long hair for he is elsewhere with a musical chant she sends fish his way he catches sea bass supper will be delicious she smiles as he leaves her world of watery thoughts a woman-fish who adores her man from afar she waits and returns often to the beach where he arrives her mind is joyful and she sings to herself a song of the human male who captures her heart |

I have had a rough week at work and I think I am wishing I were the fisherman and a mermaid would send a delicious sea bass my way. My husband would have to cook it of course. It is great having an over active imagination.
