Wet nosey nudge in the morning
Tail that will wag without warning
Big paw, proudly plonked on my palm
Licks, lovingly laid on my arm

Waiting wistfully, by the door
For her 'Mum', whom she does adore
I love her the same, that she knows
Big black beauty, my heart just glows

Walks are wonderful, when we go
Barks at the ball, each time I throw
In the water, chasing her tail,
Diving through ducks, that swiftly sail

By my side, twenty-four seven
Makes me feel, happy as Heaven
Bedtime beckons, she will be there
Curled up comfily, on her chair

Eyelids closed, I fall fast asleep
Comforted as, safety she'll keep
Long lasting love, through till the end
Never forgotten, faithful friend
