Swan Dive

SWAN DIVE

I feel at times I emulate the swan
Then see the true reflection in your eyes
It takes me back to Ugly Duck Salon
Where no amount of preening feigned disguise

Your nagging non-acceptance that I've grown
The fact I may have blossomed to this day
My proof is every two-faced look you've shown
Is jealousy the hurdle in your way?

You sabotage and stalk my state of mind
The right to own opinion drained and bled
Compliant with your view or surely blind
My confidence is very nearly dead

Your criticism poisons all my dreams
And slowly I unravel at the seams ...

This started as one thing and turned into something else so only a partial BIO. LOL

There are dual meanings intended.

With that said, I think everyone has confidence issues at some stage in their life.
The insecurity can come from anywhere or anyone.
Nuff said.
