Rejection Slip

REJECTION SLIP
I got my first rejection slip No fledgling wings ascend today I braved the bumpy ego trip And handled well I have to say No fledgling wings ascend today In publishing relationship I handled well I have to say As feathers took a minor clip Submissions failed, I got the gong It kinda hurt a little bit Perhaps I stink and really pong I guess they hated what I writ It hurt a teency little bit They said I got it bloody wrong They barely rated what I writ Shut down my perfect metered song My wings, though clipped, demand to fly I'll polish more and then submit And if I get the same reply I'll know they didn't give a shit I'll polish words and re-submit Prepared for worst, I'll re-apply And they won't give a bloody shit And I won't bloody ask them why Though talent not in short supply I joined the hapless writing crowd I'll publish when those pigs will fly Then I'll be tooting long and loud I've joined the hapless writing crowd That braved the bumpy ego trip Cut down to size but bloody proud To hold my first rejection slip (C) |

Apparently you have to earn a few of these before you deserve to get published for real.
Well, I officially got my first.
So far so good. One submission, one rejection.
100% strike rate. LOL
However that HASN'T put me off. I plan to make multi submissions to publishers this year and see how I go.
Hopefully, a shitload more rejection slips! LOL
