Joan Of Arc - comparison of styles

by ~Dovey

Joan of Arc - Nonet

God showed His will within her visions
In defense of her convictions
Page in armor fights for France
Leads army, tactician;
At stake, fatal spark
All Orleans, hark
Maid, her mark
Joan of
Arc

Joan Of Arc - Acrostic

Jehovah spoke to teenaged maid,
On quest to battle bearing blade,
A heart so pure, yet was betrayed,
Not by her France, English waylaid.

On fatal decree, price was paid,
Fire consumed fair Orleans maid.

A martyr whose convictions stayed,
Revered for leadership displayed,
Called forth by God to bring France aid.

My thanks to Donkeyoatey for the excellent illustration that inspired this work.

Write a poem on the SAME TOPIC, using TWO DIFFERENT forms of your own choosing (free verse, quatrain, monotetra, sonnet, or whatever).

For each poem, use the same title, slightly altered (as in the examples below).

DO NOT use the same form twice.

Both poems must convey the same basic message, that is, the reader must be able to see that you are saying the same thing in two different ways.

I chose the Nonet (9 lines, decreasing by a syllable with each line, from 9 to 1) and the Acrostic (The first letter in each lines forms a word or series of words) for comparison.

Pays one point and 2 member cents.
