Neglect turns to Thriving

The Flower of Pink

by writerwish

Submerged beneath the ground a seed is planted
With proper care a flower may be granted
The planters have planted it somewhere they think
Then chose to neglect it, this flower of pink

So down with the worms and the dirt underground
Isolated blinded cannot hear a sound
Its roots are so weak to survive it must fight
As it searches for food for water and light

Because of the harshness it had to endure
Its worth is then questioned its future unsure
And on the surface hardly no one can tell
How the seedling hurts and is not doing well

A wise gardener comes who knows just what it needs
He gives it nourishment and gently he weeds
With patience and kindness it grew in his care
Behind it, it left all its pain and despair

The damage and dirt they have now washed away
And replaced by beauty and much strength today
Now it has opened and that old gardener knows
It needed light to be a beautiful rose
