After a harsh rain storm, peace returns

by misscookie

Suddenly the sky darkens, strong gusty winds whip around, forcing the already fallen leaves to move about aimlessly.
Then rain initiates an attack of minute droplets of water upon the earth compelling every living creature to search for cover. The rain batters the ground without feeling.

The trees jostle each other as if they were fighting to the death.
The leaves float to the ground, as if nothing happened. The trees cease to move. They appear peaceful and act neighbourly towards one another. The sun breaks through the thick overcast, burning it up as fire does paper. Its bright sparking rays illuminate the area.

The rain droplets on the leaves glisten as the sun shines.
The living creatures step out cautiously. They scurry about with fear, since they don't know if the attack by Mother Nature on them has stopped.
Then, they realize that the commotion has ceased, and the noise associated with life commences once again.
