Vers Beaucoup (see notes)
F@#^%n' Bernie

Pay the rent, money's spent, need a stent,
another fucking dent in my car, third so far! What are all my clothes doing in those rose blossoms? Somebody toss'em? SO fucking awesome, starting my day this way. Fill the tank, then the bank, my balance sank to blank just that quick, makes me sick as I pick up my receipt from the neat, smiling cheat behind the windows. This really blows. To the shops, eyed by cops near the mops, it never stops! Cans are shifting, displays start drifting, I'm NOT shoplifting! I protest my arrest with zest. Where's my attorney, Bernie? Police report, then to court, Bernie's the sort of a sport who will guarantee I'll be free. Then fuck me! He turns around without a sound as I found the judge's decision was prison! I can't stay where people say I must pay this way! Start to run, there's a gun, I come undone as it smokes, my breath chokes, blood soaks the ambulance gurney...fuckin' Bernie!!! |

The easiest way to explain Vers Beaucoup is it's a 4-3-3-2 format with no more than 3 words PER RHYME. A lot of people get thrown by that part. It can have less, but no more than 3. It's EASY!!! lol
a-a-a-
a-b-b-
b-c-c
c-d-d.
Example:
a a a
Photos turn white/ overnight/ in my sight./
a b b
I can't fight/ with you anymore/ in this war/
b c c
with no score./ The muse /will lose/
c d d
when you choose/ to have pride,/ then hide.
This enjambment gives the form a strong internal rhyme scheme
and the minimalist word usage helps to push the message to the reader. (I'm hoping, of course.)
For my old friends, hello again!! For all my new friends, hello! Just a little comedy piece in the style I love to play with to get back in the swing of things. I hope you enjoy it.
