A different kind of primate.
Sock Monkeys

Soft, comforting and warm,
a primate born of the Great Depression, who eases those feelings of despair and stress. Smiling at struggling humans, surviving the decades, gracing my bed, a monkey created during hard times. Dwelling in my home, during good, bad and ugly times, grinning through it all. A soft toy filled with love, living through the ages. |

Sock monkeys were made during the Great Depression as toys for children. They are still around and I imagine will be here through the ages. I have one staring at me now and grinning.
