Flight of the Raven
A chapter in the book Precious Gems: An Anthology
Raven Sojourn
by Gypsymooncat
I've always loved this bird. So dark and mysterious; so stunningly beautiful.
Rainbows coil in ebony
of silken-winged nobility
unholy vision; demon-bird
Deliverer of Satan's word
My Prince of hours e'er dark
you leave me scarred by raven mark
your symbol proudly bearing, I
Revere one glance from amber eye
Come now to me, O Sable King
cry out the mournful song you sing
my dying heart in fervour pleads
Your favour as my essence bleeds
My soul I offer up this night
to join with yours in mystic flight
as one, together, ne'er return
My life to end in dark sojourn
