My tribute to Jim Vecchio

Too briefly he came

by royowen

Too briefly he came

He came to us so briefly, like a drifting summer breeze
had lost its way as moment's rush had whispered to the trees.
But love is uttered only when God's grace has come to call,
and in the hush of autumn's months the leaves begin to fall.

I know he was not wealthy, (what sparkles is mere wind)
For men know they have riches when the truth, lies can't rescind
He spread joy like confetti cast, as when man soon takes wife,
as if his celebration's sign, reflects eternal life.

A moment's like a thousand years when man knows glory's way.
And every morning's gift is gold in mercy's new born day.
You've given much now take your leave our loss is Heaven's gain.
When saints and Angels gather there you'll sing God's great refrain.

This is my personal tribute to Jim Vecchio who came to us like a gift from Heaven and after a relatively short time news came that he had died. Apparently he thought it was inconvenient, and soon he'd catch up on his writing. He'd lost his beloved wife a while ago, and I think like most of us have found, writing is a thought processor, but really it's much more than that, it is therapy and captures wisdom, a number ponder Heaven's wisdom.

But he's rejoicing with the angels right now and rejoins his beloved wife, he leaves behind a daughter, whom he adores, and a score of weeping mourners, including me. Rejoice in your Lord, well done, good and faithful servant

Matthew 25:23
His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord. NKJV

Psalm 115:16
Precious in the sight of the LORD Is the death of His saints. NKJV
Thanks for reading. R.Owen
