A Senior Moment

by Sugarray77

Romancing as a senior is
exhausting so I've found,
the more I plan to love my man,
I turn, he's not around.

I chase him down, he wears a frown,
his glasses are now lost.
I try anew to flirt and woo,
regardless of the cost.

His sight restored, he's acting bored;
I must begin Plan B.
"Now, honey dear, come close and near,
let's dance romantically."

"Let's go outside, we'll step and slide,
and sway beneath the stars."
He looks concerned, I'm feeling spurned,
"What's that about the cars?"

I'm counting three, mad as can be,
I leave him in a huff.
But, at the door, there's something more,
his voice is near and gruff.

"My darling dear, I'm dense, it's clear,
But, I have caught your hint."
Alack, alas, I'll take a pass,
now I'm the one who's spent.
