Where are They now?

To my dear granddaughters,

Where are these two lovely children in this picture who ran through the wet grass in our backyard? I remember the smiles that filled our home with a loving spirit.

The games we played were hide and seek and matching card games. The movies we watched with mounds of popcorn included Homeward Bound. Every time, tears would flow from every eye when Shadow limped down the hill. The mac & cheese and ice cream cones for lunch every day. Those long walks to the church and the dreams shared along the way. The simple times that nobody will forget.

Glancing at this picture, I wonder how many of those dreams came true. Do they have someone to love and share their life with? A person who sees their heart and knows their love will never fade. Who makes them laugh until it hurts?

I hope the years have been kind to them. May blessings abound throughout their lives. I pray there are children in their lives. Maybe this ancient grandfather is a great-grandfather; my heart would swell with pride.

The hope I have for them is that they feel my love surrounding them every second of the day. I'm so proud of the beautiful women they became.

I know that their lives are busy and their families strong. One day soon, their faces will grace our humble home again, and that will be a day of great rejoicing.

Stephanie is the one left and has a wonderful son named Easton. Jessica has been married to Stephen for several years. Both are in their mid to upper twenties. In the picture, Steph is 10 and Jessie is 7.
