Don't love me

by Jessa kuder

Don't love me for my strength,

 I'm weaker than I seem.

Don't love me for my wit,

laughter disguises my emptiness.

Don't love me for my beauty,

skin can't show you who I am.

Don't love me for being unique,

none of us are the same.

Don't love me for my wisdom,

I have so much left to learn.

Don't love me today,

I won't be the same tomorrow.

Don't feel my love,

you'll never comprehend my pain.

Don't feel my energy,

my scars hide deep in my soul.

I'm not worth knowing,

I'm not worth loving,

I have nothing left to give.

I won't give you my precious time,

I'd have shared it,

 but you won't own it.

I won't give you my heart,

 it's too delicate to hold.

I won't give myself away,

I won’t be owned or led atray.
