His Final Sunset

by DragonSkulls

The sunset brought a peace to woe
where Judas wept aloud,
confessing to the God above
with sins that he avowed.

But comfort wasn't found at dusk,
for Jesus he betrayed.
The silver couldn't save a soul
and penance must be paid.

Did faith forgive the depths of sin
and demons that he fought?
The sunset fell in silent morn.
The rope yanked swiftly taut.
