My Faith Pinned Down - or Not

In faith, I know there is a god;
I seek it everywhere.
I seek it in each tree that breathes
the blesséd sun-warmed air.

I know I shall not find the grail;
the search is all I need.
God forbid I pin Him down
and hoard Him in my greed,

for there's the way that leads to war;
one's God against all other.
I have my faith the search will fail
so I can love my brother.

I do not seek to frame His form,
a photo synthesised,
snap frozen for my mind's delight
and pixelled down to size.
