Relationship status, complicated

Thoughts borough in without warning or reason, 

Uninvited and invasive. 

Whispering subtle lies to further confuse,

The already enigmatic reality of love.

I'm unlovable. It is what it is.

It's been that way my whole life. 

I'm on my own, always have been, 

Always will be.

You can't rely, but on yourself. 

Well I have a job to do. 

I don't need protection, 

Sanity would have been nice.

I've survived without before.
