Fencing with an expression.
Pen vs. Sword
The sword rejoiced in his history so proud,
“The battles won!” he crowed aloud.
“But who is the mightier?” replied the pen.
---
“I’ve conquered worlds with my broadsword,
As the ancients and poets did record.”
“But who has the rapier wit?” said the pen.
---
“So, you think that I should to ploughshares turn?”
The poet’s words did the mighty sword spurn.
“Skewered by your own epee,” said the pen.
---
“I’ve sent many men to the heavens high.
“I’ve lived by my sword and thereby shall I die.”
“You’re foiled again,” replied the pen.
“I’ll slay you with words and thereby shall I win.”
