There lie the lovely lavenders.
They don’t have many scavengers.
They feed the dazzling butterflies
and bees that buzz with beady eyes.
Their purple spires that climb the skies
are so appealing to the eyes.
They’re used to make some medicine.
There just is no comparison.
---------------------
The red tailed hawk’s above the sky.
We hear his shrill and shrieking cry.
His eyes have stunning 3D views
so he can see the tiny shrews.
He dives, exposing gorgeous wings.
To lavenders the shrews will cling.
Although they don’t have any chance,
they try to hide inside the plants.
--------------------
The hawk eats squirrels, rats and mice.
Those lowly rodents pay the price.
The squirrel’s bigger than the rest.
The shrew, the hawk takes to his nest.
The eggs have specks upon light blue.
The mother broods, enjoys the view.
When he returns she rips the flesh.
For now, they’ve passed survival’s test.
-------------------
Without the hawk the herd of rats
will reproduce, we’ll need some cats!
But even so the pests will stay.
Without the hawks they’ll eat and play.
Diseases then would make us ill.
There isn’t a designer pill.
Dried leaves and flowers make a tea
that seems just like a calming sea.
--------------------
It helps with sleep and soothes the mind.
It feels like someone very kind.
So red tailed hawks keep gardens clean.
The shrew is such gourmet cuisine.
It’s so amazing, nature’s plan.
It’s often altered by a man.
The consequences can be bad
when nature’s lost the life it had.
--------------
But maybe this is meant to be
since God created all we see.
