The Peace of the Night

My Bedroom Window

by Debi Pick Marquette

The moonshine luminates my wall

Stars lit like glitter in the skies

I hear an owl's mating call

With all of Mother Nature's cries

I sense approaching thunderstorms

With bolts of fiery streaks of light

And through my window it performs

A Thrilling Phantom of the Night

The pitter-patter of the rain

Some peace it gives I'll surely keep

Its comfort helps to soothe the pain

And always puts me fast asleep

 Aurora's visit will amaze

I love an open window breeze

I'll have to close them in two days

When we expect another freeze

Minnesota is hard to plan anything outside because the weather can change instantly.
Last week we had 70s one day, thunderstorms that night and a blizzard the next day.

I yearn for later Spring, because when Summer comes, we have to close everything up again and turn on the central air. I try to hold off as long as I can.
