Chapter 19 Phoebe

Chapter 19

I'd already written my story about Andrew and his family coming for Christmas, but this story happened this weekend, and I couldn't help but share it because many of you have asked if Andrew ever broke down and got the girls a dog. I wrote about Eleanor wanting one back in chapter 7

The answer is 'YES!'. I'd like you to meet Phoebe. Phoebe is 12 weeks old and is of an unknown breed. In other words, a mutt. We believe she is part border collie and possible pointer. Andrew has teased that by the size of her paws, there may be some Great Dane in her heritage. Katie assures him that her paws aren't that large. She is a rescue.

I'm sure you can tell from the photograph that the girls have already put clothes on Phoebe. She took it much better than Harley did with his scarves. I have a feeling there will be many articles of clothing in Phoebe's future.

Andrew, Katie, and the girls were not visiting from St. Louis this weekend, but we did, and do, talk every Sunday afternoon for a few hours on FaceTime.

Eleanor promised with all the sincerity a four-year-old could muster, "I'll clean up all the poop and pee outside. Charlotte can clean it up inside." (Phoebe isn't housebroke, yet.)

Charlotte's response, "I'm not cleaning up poop or pee, but I'll make sure Phoebe has plenty of toys and play time."

Eleanor got concerned. "But what about LC? She'll get her feelings hurt if we spend too much time with Phoebe?" Such an empathic four-year-old.

LC, Little Cat, is their cat, who sneaked inside the house one day, and refused to leave. She's a small orange tabby. Yes, she's a real stinker, but fun to have around.

So far, Phoebe is very laid back and seemed to have adapted well to her new life with lively little girls. Although when I met Phoebe, they'd only had her twenty-three hours. I can't wait until next Sunday. I'm sure there will be many new stories.

I do feel there may be more stories about Phoebe in your future. Two little girls, one four, and the other six, and a twelve-week-old puppy. Parents who both work full time, what could possibly go wrong? LOL

Sorry! I meant to post it in advanced editor so I could enlarge the print but forgot until I was done. I hope the bold helps.

I took this photo of Phoebe from FaceTime as a screen shot.

This post is a little under 400 words.

I wrote about my granddaughters over Christmas but this story told me it had to be told. Hopefully next Wednesday.

I do not edit this as much as I do my novels. You'll find many errors. I do edit about four times, but that's not enough. I just posted this and have already corrected three mistakes. I'm sure there's more.
