How will we live our lives?

The Dash Between

by Lana Marie

The little dash between our birth and death is more than just a line.

Your life is meaningful-what's the legacy you will leave behind?

For our lives are but a vapor-a mist that quickly disappears.

What are you hoping you will accomplish throughout your earthly years?

There are always others watching and listening to how we speak.

Will they see how we kept going even at times when we felt weak?

That we never gave up hope in God and kept trusting in his ways.

Will others know our faith was strong as one who seeks the Lord and prays?

Earthly treasures stay behind when we enter our eternal home.

Yet what we’ve done with love and faith will be the riches we have shown.

This physical realm important as we choose our eternity,

By accepting or rejecting Jesus Christ who set us all free.

We have but one life to proclaim our faith and glorify the Lord.

And one day we will stand in awe to claim our promised great reward.

Hoping to hear "well done my good, and faithful servant-enter in."

For you accepted Jesus Christ and were forgiven of your sin.

I started writing a poem about the Dash. And then I saw the sweet 16 contest several days back. I had to tweak and re-tweak and re-tweak and tweak and re-tweak to make this work into 16 lines with 16 syllables each.
Thank you for the challenge.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
