Lost the love she promised to keep
A Love Torn By War
The author has placed a warning on this post for violence.
In a land of battles, where hearts were torn, a nurse named Lily and a soldier named John were born. Amidst the chaos, love sparked alight, promising to marry, despite the darkest night.
Lily was sent home, John remained to fight, she vowed to wait for him, through every lonely night. News arrived one day, delivered with a sigh, John had fallen in battle, and Lily's heart did cry.
His best friend, Mark, brought the sorrowful news, he comforted lily, shared her grief and blues, their bond grew strong, and soon they wed, but shadows lingered in Lily's head.
One day, at lunch, with Mark by her side, John burst through the doors, eyes open wide. He saw the betrayal, the lies that were spun, in a fit of rage he grabbed his gun.
Mark fell to the ground, a life cut short, Lily screamed, her heart in tort. John saw her belly, round with life, a twisted truth, a knife in strife.
With anguish and regret, he aimed once more, ending his pain, his hearts final roar. If only he knew, the child was his, a tragic end to a love that once was bliss.
