Certain Players, 2025 Australian Open
More Double-Faults, Serving
by LittleIrishman
In the modern, professional era of Tennis the pressure has been making certain players do errors.
In what is applicable to standard lower rank, and top level Tennis players, some double-faults have been appearing whilst serving, including currently at the 2025 Australian Open.
As only a small part of Tennis, elite Tennis players’ double-fault less than 10% of the time.
Tennis followers know that all players get two serves, a first and then a second as a follow-up.
Normally most Tennis players are careful and meticulous, and produce the much-needed second serve.
However, and what has not been seen in a while, is double-faults happening by the Tennis players, when the second-serve has not been made.
It could just be a straightforward technical era, fatigue, concentration, and/or distraction.
The problem with double-faults, is that if controlled sooner or later, it can flow and move into other aspects of players’ performance, even leading to defeat.
Yet, double-faults here-and-there could also be used as mind-games to challengers, making it look like they are making mistakes or losing when overall they are on top of the game.
Some recent Australian Open double-faulters, especially the females, have been:

- Coco Gauff (America)
