Dialog from life

Ships Passing

by Marc Davidson

He gathered up his stuff and put away
the paperwork he’d finished. As he stood
he called out to his wife: “I’m going out
to run some errands now. I’ll pass Publix.
You’ll tell me if…”

                             “I don’t need anything
We’ve got too much already, don’t you think?
We should be using…”

                             “What’s in the deep freeze,
Oh Yeah, I know. So take out something that
we can defrost. I’ll cook it up as soon
as I can manage.” He went out the door.

She sighed and shook her head, “I just don’t know
what gets in that man’s head. It’s a good thing
for us that he’s so cute.”

                             “I heard that, thanks.”
came drifting through the window and she smiled.
