a sonnet about the ocean
Stories Upon The Sea
Beneath the sun, the sea does rise and gleam,
Its waves like azure threads in ceaseless dance.
A restless heart that cradles every dream,
It whispers secrets born of vast expanse.
The morning tide, it sings a gentle tune,
A melody of peace and sweet repose.
Yet in the night, beneath the restless moon,
It roars with power only magic knows.
Its depths conceal the tales of sunken years,
Of sailors lost to tempests, wild and vast.
Its brine has tasted hope, and drunk our tears,
And hidden truths too deep for shadows cast.
Oh, sea, you mirror both our joy and strife,
A force that cradles and consumes our life.
