An entry for the club challenge

A Choka poem

for many seasons

you tethered my emotions

as tears fell blindly

drowning my every footprint

I lived without trace

until the seasons evolved

where the sun found me

walking upon melting snow

showing my footsteps matter

Choka is a form of Japanese poetry that alternates lines of 5 and 7 syllables, ending with an extra 7-syllable line. The pattern typically looks like this: 5-7-5-7-5-7-5-7-7. Must begin with 5-syllable must end with 7 syllable 7 syllable.
